Shadowmoor - Kithkin and Scarecrows

The Great Aurora has come, and Lorwyn is no more. In its place is Shadowmoor, an eternal night replacing Lorwyn's eternal day. All the races you came to know and love remain, but they have changed in ways both subtle and drastic.

On Lorwyn, the Kithkin were a peaceful people, protective of their community but kind to strangers. This would get someone killed on Shadowmoor. Here, the Kithkin are paranoid and xenophobic, shunning all who are not like them. Hit the jump for a peek past their fiercely guarded walls.

Kithkin

While Kithkin magic is still largely the same on Shadowmoor, tied to the Thoughtweft and Alchemy, it has become somewhat more aggressive. After all, an enemy can't harm you if he is dead. The effects of their alchemy have become more impressive, and it has become more focused on harming enemies instead of aiding allies.

However, Kithkin magic has had some unexpected results. Originally designed to be simple servants, the Scarecrows have taken on lives of their own, and most of them now have no connection to their former masters. Mindless and violent most of the time, a mysteriously intelligent scarecrow has been gathering them for some sinister purpose.
