Schools of Magic: Commander; Green

As I said before, Green was my favorite color when I started playing Magic: the Gathering. My interests have mostly shifted to Red, but I still have a soft spot for Green's big creatures.

I'm not sure if I'm going to look at every multicolor spell or just the legends. You'll find out Monday!

Green

Beast: While all colors summon creatures, Green certainly has the most magic that specifically summons or enhances creatures.
Growth: This school contains all spells related to plant growth and spells that give you more mana.
Tranquility: These spells simplify the battlefield in some way. The name is somewhat misleading, as a number of these spells are horrifically violent, but they are always cast with the goal to stop things from happening. Many of the weather related spells that Green has are in this school.

Acidic Slime: This is also the first spell from M11 that I looked at, and my choice hasn't changed - this is a Tranquility spell.
Aquastrand Spider: An odd example of Beast magic.
Awakening Zone: Another odd spell, this is part of the Growth school because it produces mana, even if it's in a very odd way.
Baloth Woodcrasher: A Beast spell with an effect that triggers off Growth.
Bestial Menace: This is a pretty good example of the unusual forms that Beast spells can take.
Brawn: One of my favorite Beast spells in existence.
Cobra Trap: Beast magic!
Collective Voyage: A new spell, this one is pure Growth magic.
Cultivate: Once more, searching for land is Growth magic.
Deadly Recluse: I would place this as Tranquility - it exists to stop flying enemies from attacking.
Deadwood Treefolk: Not only is it a Treefolk, it returns creatures from the graveyard, meaning it is Growth magic.
Elvish Aberration: That's an elf? It's clearly Growth magic, at least.
Eternal Witness: Much like Deadwood Treefolk, she is Growth magic.
Explosive Vegetation: Searching for lands means Growth magic.
Fertilid: And here's more Growth magic!
Fierce Empath: Another weird looking elf, this one is Beast magic.
Fists of Ironwood: I think this one is Growth magic because it makes saprolings, which is traditionally a thallid ability, who I feel are Growth magic.
Garruk Wildspeaker: We looked at him before, and nothing has changed since then - his abilities are Growth and Beast magic.
Harmonize: A nonstandard Growth spell, as it gives you wisdom instead of mana.
Hornet Queen: A new spell, this summons a swarm of deadly creatures, and is an example of Beast magic.
Hunting Pack: This is a fun example of Beast magic.
Hydra Omnivore: RAR! I love that Hydras are the new iconic Green creatures. This new spell is an excellent example of Beast magic.
Invigorate: Another example of Beast magic, this is an intriguing pump spell.
Kodama's Reach: This is almost the same card as Cultivate, meaning it is also Growth magic.
Krosan Tusker: Growth magic.
Lhurgoyf: I believe this is Beast magic, but I'm not completely sure. I could see why some would see this as Growth magic, and I think that demonstrates that these categories aren't strict rules.
Magus of the Vineyard: On the other hand, this is pure Growth magic. I can't begin to imagine how it could be seen as anything else.
Penumbra Spider: Reach tends to be Tranquility, but the resilience that this creature displays leads me to place it in the Beast school.
Relic Crush: The rare Green destruction effects are almost all Tranquility magic.
Sakura-Tribe Elder: Searching for a land means this is Growth magic.
Scavenging Ooze: Another new spell, this is Growth magic.
Spawnwrithe: It creates more creatures, meaning it's Beast magic.
Spike Feeder: Growth magic all the way!
Squallmonger: Monger is the strangest creature type. This is a fairly clear example of the Tranquility school.
Symbiotic Wurm: Big creature that makes a bunch of small creatures? Sounds like Beast magic to me!
Tribute to the Wild: This new spell is a good example of a Tranquility spell made for multiplayer.
Troll Ascetic: Hexproof means Tranquility. I'd like to take this moment to say that I love the Hexproof keyword - there are some people that are angry and wanted it named Trollshroud because of this card, but that would have been a moronic and terrible keyword; this is one of only two trolls with the ability.
Veteran Explorer: It should come as no surprise that this is a Growth spell.
Vow of Wildness: Much like the rest of the Vow cycle, this spell is part of two schools. It grants power through the Beast school but restricts what the creature can do through the Tranquility school.
Yavimaya Elder: Every part of this card is Growth magic.
