Beautiful Scars of the Past

I feel like the Prismskin need their own post, as their past reveals some of the horrible excesses of the Creators.

Prismskin

Of the hybrid races still living, the Prismskins were the first created, having existed long before the war. Despite being so ancient, they are also among the most complicated hybrids ever created. It is unclear exactly what animals went into their creation. They are between five and seven feet tall, with the males being taller on average. They weigh between 100 and 300 pounds, but none have ever displayed anything other than perfect athletic forms. Their skin is covered with small green scales, almost invisible to the naked eye. They are extremely tough and resistant to pain, but despite all of this they were never intended for combat - the Prismskins were pleasure slaves, designed to fulfill their owner’s every fantasy.

To aid in this they were granted limited shape shifting abilities, able to subtly shift their features and the color of their skin. They were also given advanced healing abilities, needed to survive the increasingly violent fantasies of their owners in the years leading up to the war. It was through these abilities that they survived the Purge, as the majority of Prismskins lived with their owners in the cities, though a handful traveled with the armies.

One of the strange quirks of Prismskin biology is that they can breed with any other humanoid hybrid. This was not intended by their creators, but has proven to be a boon to the survivors. When a Prismskin mates with a non-Prismskin, the pregnancy will always result in twins, one of each species. They will often have subtle hints to their other parent; a Prismskin with a Lightningkin parent will be larger than average while her sister will have a slight green tinge to her hair.

It is due to their past that the Prismskins feel that the Purge was a good thing, and they are the most likely to oppose rebuilding any of the cities, preferring to build their own new settlements. There is still a slight bias among the other hybrids to consider them as a lesser species, but their drive to make a better world earns respect, particularly from the Lightningkin.
