Reclusive Scholars of the Night

Well, this isn't what I intended to put up today. Unfortunately, the computer with all my work is still acting up, so I wrote up a quick little bit of info on a Hybrid that hasn't been revealed yet. Hopefully the computer will be working again tomorrow so I can post what I originally wanted to.

Starchasers

Originally created from scent hounds as hunting companions, the Starchasers proved to be very useful as scouts during wartime. With impressive stamina and an almost supernatural sense of smell, they were able to quickly deduce the disposition of enemy forces from their scent. Due to the nature of their duties they never became close to the other hybrids, preferring to stay with their packs. Today they live in small packs away from the other hybrids, shunning any contact with them.

In addition to their sense of smell, the Starchasers were also gifted with an advanced camouflage abilities, able to change the color of their skin in more comprehensive ways than the Prismskins. This is more useful at night, where the darkness helps hide them, and therefore they travel mostly under cover of darkness. To help this they learned the intricate details of astronomy and using the stars as guides; this has grown into the basis of their religion. When not using their abilities as camouflage they display a design reminiscent of the night sky on their skin.
